• Aquired by the Ghezzi family in 1957;
• Total hectares:530
• DOCG Brunello di Montalcino vineyards: 50,56 for a total of 180,000 bottles including a Riserva GUALTO;
• DOC Rosso di Montalcino vineyards: 6,7, for a total of 80.000 bottles;
• St. Antimo D.O.C production: 10.000 bottles
• Poderuccio IGT production: 50.000 bottles;
• Average grape production: 3100 quintals (1 quintal=100kg)
Grape production is considerably lower than the official specification and this is achieved by pruning and thinning the bunches during the grape-harvest. Average production is 30-50 quintals per hectare according to the age of the vineyards and the planting system. The grapes are picked by hand in several stages to ensure that they are perfectly ripe and healthy.
