The Agricola Monterinaldi is an innovative firm in the area of wine production. Among the first to use the latest techniques in planting and machines, we cooperate with manufacturers for the best results from their products. Part of our vineyards are reserved for experimentation with new grapes that might prove suitable for our zone, and we explore various mixes to obtain new flavors. The farm encompasses 360 hectares (approximately 890 acres), situated entirely in the territory of the towns of Greve in Chianti (district of Florence) and Radda in Chianti (district of Siena), in the central zone of Classical Chianti.
Eighty hectares (approximately 198 acres) are planted in specialized vineyards of the typical grapes of Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. (Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Malvasia) and other grapes: Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Gamay and Syrah. The annual production of Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. is limited to a maximum of 5000 liters per hectare. In land suitable for them, we have also installed vines for the production of Vinsanto. The location of the land has such excellent exposures that we are able to produce wines that are dry, well-structured and suitable for long aging.
The wine cellar is fitted with modern equipment for both the wine-making process and care of the wines. We are proud of our equipment - superlative casks of Slavonic oak as well as barriques for controlled aging.
Particular attention has been paid to the olive oil sector (in the zone of Classical Chianti Top Hill), from which we obtain high quality Extra-Virgin oil. Twenty hectares (approximately 50 acres) are planted in specialized olive groves. The average production of Extra-virgin oil is limited to 2000 liters a year.
