Fattoria del Teso with its 35 hectares of specialized vineyards is the leading wine farm of Montecarlo and the whole of Northern Tuscany. The vineyards have been accurately chosen and planted in accordance with the local tradition, that is combining local grapes (which include the extremely interesting Vermentino white grape) with French grapes of the type grown in Montecarlo since the middle of the 19th century (one century in advance of the other DOC wine zones of Italy): Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet for red wine; Sauvignon, Semillon, Pinot and Roussanne (Montecarlo DOC regulations are the only ones in Italy which contemplate this grape) for white wine. The products of the Fattoria del Teso have always been known to express the typical characters of the Montecarlo "terroir". Both the white and the red wines immediately reveal their elegance and refinement.
These characters are due in great part to the proximity of the sea and mildness of climate, distinguish Montecarlo wine from all other Tuscan wines and truly represent the traits of the people who live in this province: the Lucchesi, the people of Lucca.
A special mention should be made of Vinsanto, a typical Tuscan product, that the Fattoria del Teso ages for 10 years in its rare under-roof Vinsantaia. The wines of the Fattoria del Teso were chosen, after a rigorous selection, for the gala dinner offered by the President of the Republic of Italy in honour of the President of the United States Jimmy Carter on his visit to Rome. Very recently the Red Montecarlo Riserva of the Fattoria del Teso named "Anfidiamante" was selected by Enoteca Italiana di Siena as one of the four best "riservas" of Tuscany.
The talent of winemaker Attilio Pagli gives the products a unique and recognizable mark.
